Hey boan.... Go fuck yourself.

1.

Quote:
Outsourcing jobs is a result of emerging abilities in other countries to compete with the United States. They are doing it better than we are so companies are paying them.

They are doing it CHEAPER, because it costs less for them to provide for their huts than it does for us to provide for our homes. Please define "BETTER".

2.

Quote:
The numbers don't support the theory of people being unemployed because of outsourcing jobs. http://data.bls.gov/PDQ/servlet/SurveyOutputServlet?data_tool=latest_numbers&series_id=LNS14000000

What do those numbers show? The fact that unemployment has been on the rise to almost double of what it was ten years ago? Please elaborate.

3.

Quote:
Both sides of the equation have to be considered. Even if overall wages do fall, the lower prices for items increases purchasing power which is a net increase for people.

Assuming their wages and employment stays the same. A-G-A-I-N, you regurgitate this gibberish without ANY basis whatsoever.

Quote:
The United States is the Thirdlargest exporter in the world. Debt nor jobs are counted. Anyone want to do some research and tell us what we export?

And what about our imports? Take the blinders off, boaner.

Quote:
Should we also prevent jobs from, say Detroit, MI from being outsourced to Alabama, Kentucky or West Virgina? Why should that Toyota Plant be able to take the high paying jobs from the workers in Detroit?

Straw man absolutist bullshit. Either way, we'd at least collect taxes on the incomes and from the business's. Do you have a point here, or is this you still spewing that absolutist bullshit. In return, do we take in taxation from foriegn based companies? No benefit. And if you don't believe me, refer your sorry ass back up to point #3 above. Good lord, you can be ignorant.

Quote:
How do you plan to prevent a company from outsourcing? I really am interesting to see what your plans look like.

Penalties. Either they do legitimate and ethical business in the US, or they pay the same taxes as if they'd be doing business here anyway. Fuck 'em. And fuck you, too while we're at it.

Quote:
Should we also curtail technology? Technology "takes more jobs" from people every day than outsourcing. How is curtailing outsourcing (if possible at all) different from curtailing technological advances?

What the fuck are you talking about here? Are you saying technology doesn't give jobs? Or are you admitting that it just gives jobs to those who mostly live in huts overseas?

Go fuck yourself, boan. I've had enough of your goddamn bullshit. I'm surprised at this point that you can even operate, as you are so paranoid of what might happen, instead of actually considering what does happen.

Who is complaining about doomsday scenarios where all of our jobs go overseas? YOU. We out source like 1-2% of the jobs here.

This really shows either how completely out of touch you are you're so intoxicated with the Global Socialist Koolaid, or is it just both? I think it is.

There's no value in that

There's no value in that either. Just a waste of my time. For instance, I asked him where the system is BETTER, rather than cheaper. He sidestepped the issue, bringing up his widgets instead of an actual consumer cost index, which shows that his widget pricing "theory" is wrong.

I know what to expect from boan. And that is a closed mind with closed ideas, with no heart behind his posts. There is no value there for ME.

I'm not really following

I'm not really following this argument because I don't have all the info....
But perhaps thisis what Boan is referring to when he stated the 1-2% of outsources jobs...
It's an interesting article - allbeit from 2004...

http://www.ecommercetimes.com/story/34414.html?wlc=1235149222

The vast majority of jobs lost to outsourcing stay within the U.S., with a small percentage actually ending up filled by overseas workers, according to a Department of Labor study.

The agency's Bureau of Labor Statistics said in a report that just 4,633 of the 239,361 jobs lost in large-scale layoffs it tracked in the first quarter of 2004 were actually moved overseas.

That represents just 2 percent of the total. By comparison, 9 percent of the layoffs were deemed to be the result of a company deciding to outsource some function, meaning jobs were far more likely to be relocated within the United States as a result of outsourcing.

"In more than seven out of 10 cases, the work activities were reassigned to places elsewhere in the U.S.," the report said.

The report seems to contradict a study released last month from Forrester that predicted the number of white-collar service jobs shipped overseas would rise more this year than earlier forecast, with some 588,000 jobs at risk. Earlier this year, leading computer maker Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) acknowledged that most of the new jobs it was creating were coming in overseas locations as well.

...............Now remember, I'm an Obama supporter....so I don't necessarily agree with this article, or the concept that we aren't really losing opportunities....but after reading this I do believe it needs further investigation.

I agree that its food for

I agree that its food for thought, Lynn. And, at the same time I'm disappointed that my thoughts concerning widgets and the consumer price index have been tossed to the side.

This report, which is an offshoot of the original story went on to say that it did not include outsourcing of jobs for small business's of 50 employees or less and recognized that small business makes up the majority of the work force in the USA. It also went on to say:

Quote:
John A. Challenger of Challenger, Gray & Christmas , which tracks employment data independently, told the E-Commerce Times that offshoring still represents a risk to the employment portion of the ongoing economic recovery in the United States.

He also expects some half-million jobs to leave the country by the end of this year and said the fact that the United States has added payroll jobs at a faster-than-expected clip in recent months indicates that the recovery is very strong.

"Longer-range, offshoring is not going to go away," Challenger said. "If anything, the appeal of moving jobs to lower cost centers is going to grow as overseas economies become better qualified to handle more complex tasks."

I would not put my eggs in any basket regarding what I've heard up to this point. What I do know from my own personal experiences is that most tech support jobs have been shipped overseas. This has happened to the point of dysfunctionality and some company's have even backtracked and brought those jobs back to the USA because of the amount of complaints regarding the drop in the quality of service.

That HAS been what I have personally noticed. And many others concur. I view articles as the above like I view boan. They are one sided and paint only one side of the entire picture. My experiences state otherwise.

Just like my CPI example above, he will claim "victory" over only one of his points and not consider the rest. I brought up an entire list and addressed his entire post when I flamed him. In my eyes, he had it coming. Maybe its me, but I highly doubt it here. For he won't even look at the CPI with his widget "theory".

I've seen this too many times. You go ahead and banter with him if you wish. While I agree that he has value at certain times, I will disagree with those that contend he is open to considering what others have to say, especially when they don't match up with his "philosophy".

Here is the CPI. It does not show a drop in price with the drop in manufacturing costs and lower labor costs. Note the red line.

Re: Hey boan.... Go fuck yourself.

I guess I should just explain both since it's liike six months between visits for FFt.

"There is nothing more permanent than a "temporary" government program"

I don't remember where I first heard of this but damn if it's not the truth. The income tax was supposedly a temporary program to get us over costs from the civil war. Lawmakers all over still use this today to get things passed. It's not just limited to that, though. Programs like the Fannie Mae that was intended to help the housing market after the great depression still exist today, although they aren't needed. It's not really a great surprise this happens, constituents rarely like to hear a program has been terminated that they view as good for them or their family. So more programs get added daily.

"If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money,
and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a
limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one...."
-- James Madison, letter to Edmund Pendleton, January 21, 1792

This quote exemplifies what our government does incorrectly on a daily basis. James Madison was expressing that the Constitution provides very defined roles for government. See the founders did not trust government at all. They had experienced a tyrannical and corrupt government and fled from it to a new land. Almost any program can be justified as promoting the general welfare of the people, especially if only the stated objectives of the program are advertised and the costs and other negative aspects are ignored or underestimated as is frequently the case. As a side note SCOTUS has ruled that Congress does in fact have the power to do basically anything in the name of the general welfare of the people.

The interstate commerce clause is another that the supreme court has let run rampant and is used for many many laws that shouldn't be.
