What is the philosophical trend of this century?

After WWII the trend in philosophy was existentialism. Camus, Sartre and others proposed
a world without a higher meaning.

I wonder what is the trend in philosophy in today's Internet era.

What do you think?

The Supreme Critic on the errors of the past and the present, and the only prophet of that which must be, is that great nature in which we rest, as the earth lies in the soft arms of the atmosphere; that Unity, that Over-soul, within which every man's particular being is contained and made one with all other; that common heart.

Emerson surely had a sweat tongue Laughing out loud . But pantheism is as old as the world. Nothing new, same old errors.
Same old self-deceit.

Money is like fire, an element as little troubled by moralizing as earth, air and water. Men can employ it as a tool or they can dance around it as if it were the incarnation of a god. Money votes socialist or monarchist, finds a profit in pornography or translations from the Bible, commissions Rembrandt and underwrites the technology of Auschwitz. It acquires its meaning from the uses to which it is put. --Lewis H. Lapham

I think spiritual philosophy

I think spiritual philosophy will get more considered in this century. The desire to truly understand the Supreme Consciousness or so-called God is raising recently. People will look 'inside' much more than before. I guess, it's the right time to be more spiritual.

Hedonism is the philosophy

Hedonism is the philosophy in this era of the Internet. If it feels good - do it. If it hurts and you like pain - do it! If it is self-indulgent then by all means do it. If someone disagrees with you fuck them and don't listen to the presentation of their reality and justifications!
What a wonderful world!

I get into this type of discussion with my father all the time. He'll say how much "wickeder" the world is today and that the second coming is almost here. I then only have to point to him examples of the flappers in the 20's, the Wild West, Rome, Greece, etc. etc. etc. Take a reality pill, times have changed but humans are still humans Lick Me!

Good point, Pagan.

The more we "think" the world is changing, the more we realize it stays the same. It's actually our experiences that are doing the changing.....

That and how much history repeats itself, we as a species still cannot learn from our mistakes. Therefore we are doomed to repeat them until we can.

The world has a lesson plan and when you graduate, you don't come back anymore.

Worse yet, we get to witness those making the same mistakes that we did when we were young and stoopid....

Right on Fremen, you are getting it after all. Now I am compelled to ask where does one travel to after graduation?

Don't we all! I have found it best to simply state that sometimes the best policy is to gracefully accept that we agree to disagree, then inquire about the weather for tomorrow.

'One' does not travel, just energy that resumes other forms.

Hmm I understand from my physics classes that energy does not disappear it only changes form. But what about the cognitive element of human existance does it not travel to another dimension?

Hmm... I think that would be Hedonism. Everyone is now just thinking about their own pleasures. Serves them right. Everyone has the righ to pursuit their happiness anyways.

History repeats itself and all  the mistakes we have done in the past comes down to hunt us in a different manner but always stays the same.

I missed this reply -

Consciousness is the deal-breaker for all physical laws, isn't it?  It seems to defy any repeatable test and stays outside the bounds of scientific method.  I enjoy not understanding it and simply having it - very experiential  Rolling on the floor laughing
