The worst thing about this story is not that the 8 year old Liberian girl living in Phoenix, Arizona had been raped by 4 boys ages 9, 10, 13 and 14. The suspects are also Liberian. The really worst thing is that the parents of the victim no longer want to have anything to do with the girl because she has brought shame upon the family.
News Story link?.....
Equally as horrific is their bad use of domestic violence laws in Phoenix as it pertains to illegal immigrants. Illegal women are using a predicted loophole in the law to gain citizen status in this country, all at the expense of unsuspecting, well intentioned men.

Where's the outrage now?

I've seen this around the internet several times, and those little shits need to be hanged along with the parents of that poor girl. Someone needs to take them by the throat and beat this into them: "In America, we have sympathy for rape victims!"
The family brought shame on themselves by rejecting their own daughter, and I swear that if they go to trial themselves and I'm on the jury, I'll be the first to say "By the neck until dead!"
I'm all for respecting other cultures, but some beliefs simply have no place at all in these modern times.
What the fuck is happening here in America? You move here you live by our laws! No fucking exception - period!
Off with their little pricks, stuff them down their throats and send them back to Liberia as an example of American justice - they just might fucking get it then!
The parents need the same treatment, but first gang rape the mothers and turn the fathers over to a bunch of imprisoned gay guys to have their way with them too!
I simply can't believe people think like this in today's world - well actually it comes as no fucking surprise really!
Christ! This is the ONLY happening that I've ever heard of. This'll wind up being used to further vilify men, not cultures. Be very careful what you wish for. I seriously doubt if we'll hear another similar case for years. Let the law run its course and move on.

This is not an isolated case, just one that garnered public notice and outrage. I have read other reports similar where cultural and religious beliefs have spawned such unconscionable behaviors. The guy that shot his two daughters comes to mind - hell all they did was desire to become more western in their life style. If the fuck head didn't want that then why in the hell did he relocate his family to America in the first place?
All I can say is they are ignorant people who fear change and social evolution. I will never give them quarter in my land of implied freedoms! In fact I have no issue with deporting them or better yet turn them over to the street mobs for some good old fashion justice!
A bit extreme AO, but I do agree that those rapists and that girls parents all need a firm punishment. Even if it means kicking them out of the country. Even though I'll respect that different people believe different things, they first have to respect the fact that there are some things you just plain don't do in America. Abandoning someone because they were raped is pretty damn high on that list.
My culture back in Scotland has a belief that showing up at someones house unannounced is extremely rude (and annoying. To me, it's a hanging offense). Do I bite peoples heads off for it here? Naw, I welcome them in and make an excuse 30-40 minutes later about being busy even though I can rig my doorbell to loudly yell "PISS OFF!!". XD

I may be a bit extreme but I believe in countering extremism with extremism. Candy coating it simply doesn't work IMO. This approach is more often than not used n fighting forest fires - back burning into the main fire reduces the fuel and starves the original into submission.
As for unannounced visitors - it is perfectly proper to hold onto and implement your attitude her in the States - I certainly share in the behavior. There are few exceptions I make on that issue. But then as you say I tend to be an extremist!

It isn't? To me, its nowhere NEAR the norm, either. Basing thoughts (and especially law) on something that is nowhere near the norm only serves to continue the extremist reactionary system we have today.

A simple Google or Bing search will provide a plethora of incidents for your enlightenment. So no this is not just an isolated case.
I find it rather interesting for one who is so involved with victimization issues to have failed to recognize this reality?
As one who IS so involved with victimization issues, I know of these issues first hand and the amount of false accusations associated with them. When you can show me that this has become the norm and that the law has NOTHING to combat them with, please let me know......
Until then, its just more of the same.

I never declared or used the word "norm", I did however explicitly indicated that this was not an unusual or isolated case. Again a simple search will deliver adequate case in point situations supporting this position.
Sometimes we get so consumed by the presence of the forest we fail to enjoy the individual beauty of each tree!
I never declared or used the word "norm"
So what? I did. That was my standard.
My point is that news stories like this are used to prey on emotion to add laws on top of what we already have and already work. This is how the government furthers its control over us. This is WHY we have the most per capita of our citizenry in prison.
Sometimes stories like this are based on a desire to inform and to bring to attention a serious problem. I see no attempt to institute any new laws as a result of this story.
I see no connection between this story and the per capita ratio of imprisoned in America. Did I miss something - is there an overwhelming number of followers of Islam in our prisons?
I am thinking "absolutist" opinion here!
You did miss something. My comment regarding false accusations result in those who are improperly imprisoned while being denied their rights to defend themselves over an emotional topic. Worse yet, such as in the Duke LaCrosse case, perjury charges are never filed against those who DO violate these laws. I can back that up as well. Read my website, if you dare.
That "absolutist" enough for ya?
is there an overwhelming number of followers of Islam in our prisons?
Gitmo. {/tasteless}
Seriously now, I think the light here is more that the parents completely disregarded the child, and that is something that is simply not tolerated by the rule of common sense, and common decency. I'd love it if parents got their heads kicked in by the law if they took a "I don't give a shit" approach to things as serious as this.

Gitmo doesn't qualify as it is not on U.S. soil! Tasteless - no not really if you have a sense of humor about it all.
I am with you on the heads being kicked in concept.
