The Pillars of the Earth

This book by Ken Follet was one of the best books I've ever read.  If you've read it, you know what I'm talking about.  If not, definitely recommend this.

It gives a very accurate description of lifestyle in the 12th century, between kings and the church and knights and governance and the people.  Basically it tells about the building of a cathedral, love and politics, and in the entire book, you'll really hate the villain.

I second that, I read "Pillars of the Earth" when I was in the Middle East.  It's one of the best Novels I've ever read, it's a thick Novel but it was damn hard to put it down.

Yes, I heard about this book recently and thought of reading it soon. I am looking for this book as a birthday present next month. Hopefully my dear friend would buy that for me as a birthday gift. As long as it comes free it is good for me Smiling

I've heard of the book but didn't know much about it. It sounds like a worthy dramatic effort that might be worth checking out.
