Effects of religion

Do you feel that your religion had made you into a better human being or do you think that religion and God haven't bought any changes to your way of thinking. I tend to feel that my religion had certainly made me into a better person than the one I previously used to be. Cheers Mate!

Re: Effects of religion

Religion has taught me that human sanity can be worn down into dust. There are good religious people out there, but all but maybe .3% of them need to straighten their priorities and grow up.

I ditched it a long time ago and didn't look back, all my life, I've lived by my own rules, and the law. Not by the words of old men in Rome.

Re: Effects of religion

I'm absolutely sure that the religion should be the main supporting force for the man on his way to the achievement of the moral ideal. Sorry, but we have many examples when Church had played the negative role in the social life. One of such examples is the Inquisition.

I was born perfect and remain that way regardless of religous influences! Laughing out loud

Re: Effects of religion

I see a marked response in this place from some astute critics in other places of this forum. So, somewhere down the line religion plays a part. But, to me whatever happens within a religion or between religions, are all man made with wicked mind and don't put the blame on religion.

In one real and simple word, to the question of change, yes. Me not known to you or other members, I do pray for safety for all of us for the soul within. Not for your well being. It is your headache to make dollar and mine to make trillions of dollar.

Re: Effects of religion

Everybody has their own way if their religion helped them through their lives but I guess for me I lived and die believing in God but same as  Aries has said    quote:  "Not by the words of old men in Rome."

It is not only by  "Not by the words of old men in Rome." but also not by the bull**** words of politicians in the name of laws and all the comics they press upon us.
