A growing number of Russians believe that they don't want democracy. The poll by the Levada-Centre
showed that 57% of those questioned considered that Russia needed democracy, the lowest number since 2006.It said 26% believed that democratic governing was not suitable for Russia.Nearly 95% of respondents said they had little or no influence on what was happening in the country.I like the way in which a country like Russia is being governed with Vodka and Oil.
I too read in few articles that the communist country is slowing returning to an authoritarian or aristocracy path. But, unless we live there we cannot make any comment. Hope, gas is not stopped from there to the Europeans and is it flowing to the west too.
The smart Russians have left the country to pursue a better life in the west. What you have left to a great extent are the losers that weren't capable of moving forward as their socialist state failed. The remaining are just products of socialism who expect the state to take care of them - they are simply lazy, ignorant idiots.
No, No. I do not agree with you Astute Observer. A gold mine of gas or natural resources are available in abundance over there. I don't undermine their ability, but see to that it is ruled like our own dubya, oh sorry, former dubya, to dig out the oil or gas from there to use it here.
What I failed to list was the fact that of those who remained n Russia also included the THUGS! Putin being one of them! Their current form of government can best be described as a thugocracy as much as anythnig. The elite get the wealth and the common citizens gets shit. They sell their resources mainly to the EU and their people still suffer.
The thing about polls and studies, you can prove any point you want but it doesn't make it true. People rarely will move beyond their comfort zone, so they don't know what life could be--only what they know.
