I for one, would like to see proof of this. While I agree that he's probably dead, it is also entirely conceivable that they kept him alive for intel. He would be their bitch!

It's unprovable essentially. If they show the pictures people think they are doctored or a fake. People either have to take it on faith or not believe.

There's a good chance it's at least partly true, because if he were alive and well, he would surely have delivered a statement to Al Jazeera by now.
