The Pathetic State of the GOP

Fiorina takes initial step to challenge Boxer
CNN - Aug 18, 09

(CNN) — Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is taking the initial steps to challenge California Democrat Barbara Boxer for her Senate seat, a move that could lay the groundwork for one of the most high profile and expensive contests of 2010.

Fiorina, the first woman to lead a Fortune 500 company and a former surrogate for John McCain's presidential bid, filed a tax identification number and registered a campaign committee with the IRS Tuesday called "Carly for California."

"The people of California have serious concerns about job creation, economic growth and the role of government in solving problems that touch each of ourlives," Fiorina said in a statement. "I have received a great deal of encouragement to make a run for the Senate in 2010 from people across the political spectrum because these are all issues that need focused attention in Washington, D.C."

Under the new committee, Fiorina will begin to aggressively raise money as well as speak with policy experts and campaign advisors, spokeswoman Beth Miller told CNN.

Boxer's campaign coffers are already loaded: the three-term senator's latest filing with the Federal Elections Commission shows she raised well over $2 million during the first half of the year and has close to $5.5 million cash on hand.

Though Fiorina does not have a set timetable to formally announce a Senate bid, Miller said the former Hewlett-Packard CEO's window to make a decision is only a couple of months given a GOP primary is set for next June.

A former economic adviser and visible presence on cable news, Fiorina was largely sidelined from public appearances from the McCain campaign after telling an interviewer she didn't think either member of the GOP presidential ticket was qualified to run a major company.

Democrats wasted little time in attacking Fiorina's latest move.

“This is a person who was fired from Hewlett Packard for running the company into the ground, fired from the McCain Presidential Campaign for incompetence, and now thinks the people of California are going to hire her," said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman Eric Schultz.

Should she ultimately jump into the Senate race, Fiorina would be the second high-profile former CEO running for statewide office in California. Former e-Bay CEO Meg Whitman announced last month she was exploring a run for California governor.

First Palin, now this incompetent Bitch?  What is it with the exclusive club of Executives and Politicians, they are rewarded for complete failure and incompetence.  This Bitch is well known for screwing up one of the major players in the Computer Industry which has been around for ever.  She trashed a company that once stood for quality, was fired for trashing it.  Then was also fired from McBush's Campaign for further incompetence and now moves on to Politics.  Well with her record of failure and complete incompetence it's sad to say she'll more than likely win.  Sheep

Re: The Pathetic State of the GOP

Here's a good comment back in 2005 which nails it pretty well about this Skank -

It's really sad to see what's happened to HP over the Fiorina reign of terror. HP is dead and about the only option left for the next CEO is to clean it up enough for a sale before the books really start to look bad. I think HP is at a profitablity peak right now and it's all downhill from here. HP is very poorly positioned right now due to shortsightedness. Carly made profits at the expense of the brand name.

With the loss of engineering talent and focus on quality, all of HP's competitors have been cleaning up at HP's expense. The talent Carly threw away during her tenure is the type of talent that takes decades to create. After what Carly did, I don't think they'll ever be able to get the cream of the engineering crop they were able to attract before her reign.

IBM is the clear winner now at the high end. Dell is the winner at the low end and Dell is now making significant inroads into printing area with their Dell branded Lexmark printers.

HP printers, which used to be indestructable tanks, are now cheaply built from outsourced parts and expensive to maintain. The cost of printer parts over Carly's reign doubled, or more, making HP printers uncompetitive. This, along with the imperious attitudes of the HP support organization, is causing customers to look elsewhere for printers. Since HP's profits mainly come from printers, this is not a good sign for the future.

Carly completely missed the point. HP was never about being cheap; it was about being good.

Carly was fired because she was incompetent. She just didn't have the experience to lead a company the size of HP. Her imperious nature certainly didn't help her. Unfortunately, this imperious attitude has spread to the rest of the company and customers have noticed it.

Carly has created a host of enemies for HP. The customers, employees, former employees, and supply chain all hate her and her name has become synonomous with HP. With the Compaq merger, I think the corporate treasury is too empty to patch the hull on this ship.

This sum's up this incompetent bitch pretty well.  Now let's see how the NeoCon's put her up on a pedestal Jerk Off

Wow. I forgot about her and didn't relate the name to the action until you brought this up. At first, I wuz like, "great, dump BB!" But now, I remember this skank and her frivolous lawsuit against HP. I predict she'll play the "victim" card! I think she'll be doing Boxer a favor by running against her.  Think of all of the employees she pissed off at HP and how they'll get the word out about what an incompetent CEO she was.  I foresee a landslide for Boxer.

Well once again the citizens are left with a choice of picking from a list of two losers!
