i think the most common thing is that the western culture is inspired from the eastern culture and so they are celebrating such when we celebrate.
You are correct to an great instant, because modernity comes from the older one,
we just need to refresh it and to pack it in a new cover.

What about today's yung chiks going overboard with western culture of divorce, baby bearing and et al.
According to you, you hold an image of women as being "next to god".
You can't have it both ways.
Sorry, but I prefer our Native American culture to any "eastern culture". And, looking in any "discotech", a lot of the trends sure seem to be from 5-10years prior in "western" culture. What is with the big obsession on eastern vs western culture lately?

Yep, I'm rather partial to it myself. The more I learn about the Aztec's, the Maya and the Inca (not to mention the lessor known cultures prior to them) I'm simply amazed and in awe.
I agree wholehheartedly. The American Indian culture is one of respect and beauty. I have had the pleasure of being welcomed onto Indian land with the Makah's up in Neah Bay in the 90's in exchange for doing some computer work for them. They made sure I went home with lots of Salmon, had a great camping space, and threw a dinner in my honor.
I have rarely been as touched as I as was that weekend.
It's an experience that I will carry with me the remainder of my life.
Its quite common that every one likes their land. The eastern like eastern culture, and western like their own one.
I am from east and i like my culture as i am acustumed to my culture. Eastern people maintain a very good welcome for their guests, even though they were once enemies but now ask for help.
Cogbuddy, that's not the point. This was the original statement posted:

I disagreed with it, gave an example, and again, I don't understand why there are constant comparisons going on here lately.
