Recommended Films

Firstly, thanks to Pagan for recommending movies.  Now I'd like to give out my top choices, let's try limiting it to 5

I won't be recommending Dark Knight 'cause I'm sure you've watched it...

In no particular order:

Shawshank Redemption - I'm amazed on how many of my peers and acquaintances don't know this movie.  Anyway, it's a great film.

Russell Crowe films - The Insider, Gladiator & A Beautiful Mind - Not really a fan of Russell Crowe one these consecutive years, he made great film choices.

The Last of the Mohicans - This one's a classic.

Almost Famous - Well, if you like rock, you'll love this.

The Departed - I watched it on the big screen and it kept me at the edge of my seat, all the way.  It's great to watch it the first time, it loses its impact when you repeat it.  If you haven't watched it, do so and turn off the lights.  I promise you, you'll be seething in anger with Matt Damon.

If you like really cheesy parodies, Epic Movie is worth a watch, but if you don't like really cheesy parodies, don't.

I'd recommend The Manchurian Candidate, it's a really good psychological thriller.

Re: Recommended Films

In speaking of Russell Crowe movies, don't forget "Master and Commander of the Far Side of the World"  Incredible story and photography and based on some actual occurrences.  Great Movie.

More recently, I thougth the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" was just so special in its special effects and story line.  Certainly, you had to buy ito the story line but the film ws the fastest 3 hours I have spent in  a theatre for along time.  Pitt was incredible in this movie.  Speaking of Pitt, catch "Burn after reading"  Hilarious in the absurd characters and storyline.  So absurd it works beautifully.

Benjamin button should have got the Academy Award instead of "Slumlord Millionaire"  Did I get the title right?  Did not like that film nearly as well.

District 9 is slow to get going but once it takes off, what a ride.

Benjamin Button was excellent, I was sceptical at first but when I watched the movie it was outstanding.  This is definitly heading for my DVD collection.

Brad Pitt is one of my favorite actor's, has been since he made Kalifornia and 12 Monkey's, brilliant acting there.

As for Russell Crowe, he's pretty decent and if you want to see a great flick you have to see him in "Romper Stomper".
