Phantom of The Paradise?

I remember seeing ads for the musical movie Phantom of The Paradise, and I've talked to people who really liked it. Has anybody here seen it?

I'd like to check it out, but I think that it may be pretty dated these days.

Would you say that it's in the ballpark of something like Rocky Horror?

I personally love Phantom of the Paradise and if you like Rocky Horror, it should be right up your alley. There's a similar mixture of horror, music, comedy, gender bending, etc. It's certainly dated but I think in a good way. It's also interesting because it's an early DePalma film but doesn't necessarily fit in with his later work, although a lot of his stuff does tend to be dated as a result of his films always reflecting full-force the excesses of the time.

You should definitely check it, you just might love it and then you'll be glad you did.
