Expansion of the State Society

This really is a good example on how the U.S. has become a Socialist country with the expansion of the "State" society.  Face it people, the U.S. is a Police State.

Private pay shrinks to historic lows as gov't payouts rise
By Dennis Cauchon - USA TODAY | May 25, 10

Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in U.S. history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds.

At the same time, government-provided benefits — from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs — rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010.

Those records reflect a long-term trend accelerated by the recession and the federal stimulus program to counteract the downturn. The result is a major shift in the source of personal income from private wages to government programs.

The trend is not sustainable, says University of Michigan economist Donald Grimes. Reason: The federal government depends on private wages to generate income taxes to pay for its ever-more-expensive programs. Government-generated income is taxed at lower rates or not at all, he says. "This is really important," Grimes says.

The recession has erased 8 million private jobs. Even before the downturn, private wages were eroding because of the substitution of health and pension benefits for taxable salaries.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis reports that individuals received income from all sources — wages, investments, food stamps, etc. — at a $12.2 trillion annual rate in the first quarter.

Key shifts in income this year:

• Private wages. A record-low 41.9% of the nation's personal income came from private wages and salaries in the first quarter, down from 44.6% when the recession began in December 2007.

•Government benefits. Individuals got 17.9% of their income from government programs in the first quarter, up from 14.2% when the recession started. Programs for the elderly, the poor and the unemployed all grew in cost and importance. An additional 9.8% of personal income was paid as wages to government employees.

The shift in income shows that the federal government's stimulus efforts have been effective, says Paul Van de Water, an economist at the liberal Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

"It's the system working as it should," Van de Water says. Government is stimulating growth and helping people in need, he says. As the economy recovers, private wages will rebound, he says.

Economist Veronique de Rugy of the free-market Mercatus Center at George Mason University says the riots in Greece over cutting benefits to close a huge budget deficit are a warning about unsustainable income programs.

Economist David Henderson of the conservative Hoover Institution says a shift from private wages to government benefits saps the economy of dynamism. "People are paid for being rather than for producing," he says.

Re: Expansion of the State Society

THIS is the "system working as it should"????

Geezus, next private business's will be facing lawsuits simply for competing with the gub'mint. If only you knoew what I did about the courts.....

Check this out. It's happening in Thurston County as we speak:

Please direct me to the appropriate person or office that is authorized to conduct audits of private court cases so I can send them this referral.  Attached is a copy of an independent audit I conducted for a private case only to find out yesterday that, according to Commissioner Indu Thomas, I did not have the authority to conduct such an inspection of records.  As my payroll records for my time in public service in Washington State will show, I have previously served as a Lead Auditor 4 (fraud auditor) for the State of Washington, a position in which none of the auditors were required to have any certification beyond a college education/basic accounting knowledge.  As a lead auditor, I also conducted Urgent Claim investigations (which included fatality/benefits investigations) as well as conducted training seminars on investigative/audit discovery techniques I had developed primarily for tax discovery purposes. The State of Washington trusted myself and those under me for assessing hundreds of thousands of dollars in premiums and fees for the purpose of bringing in revenue.  When I left to the private sector I worked as a private investigator dealing with national security matters.

I do feel that regardless of my credentials or what the Commissioner may view as lack of credentials, that the facts still do speak for themselves and there is such a great deal of evidence uncovered that needs to be addressed and acknowledged by the Court.  You should know that this audit report contains, among evidence of other improper governmental and judicial actions, as well as evidence of violations of the federal PAID initiatives, IRS tax laws and other constitutionality issues, a great deal of evidence of substantial perjury (several counts across numerous court cases including cases in King County, by one individual alone) that Prosecuting Attorney Ed Holm refuses to look into, even though it was also forwarded to him by the Olympia Police Chief (as evidently Ed Holm's Office is "too inundated" with higher priority work right now and insists I petition the Governor to have this looked into by the Attorney General's Office (in spite of the evidence in this audit that show an Assistant Attorney General's timesheet billing his official tort clients for his time on this private case among other issues that he is under investigation by the Executive Ethics Board and the Bar for. I could be mistaken, but I think it would be too great of a conflict of interest for the AGO to look into this case unless this particular AAG submits an official notice of withdrawal from this private case which he continues to refuse to do, picking and choosing when he wants to represent the Respondent and refusing to submit a limited notice of appearance).  Ed Holm further stated in his letter to the Bar that perhaps a bar complaint should be filed against Rob McKenna and Governor Chris Gregoire as they are ultimately responsible for this as well.

I was not aware there was an official court auditor for private court matters (as this is not a request for a performance audit of the Thurston County United Family Courthouse, though the evidence I uncovered may also be helpful for such an audit), and my research in finding who that individual or office is, to date, continues to yield no actual name or office title.  I would like this to certainly go through the appropriate channels but need assistance in knowing where to turn.  Please note that for privacy purposes, I did not attach the actual documents examined in the audit (receipts, tax returns, copies of checks, bank statements, court transcripts, declarations, billing statements, etc.) but can also forward those as well with the exception of the exhibits that were ordered to be destroyed.  If anyone wishes to also analyze the exhibits ordered to be destroyed, s/he will need to obtain a letter from the Court stating relief from judgment/contempt of court will be granted for the purposes of an audit. (I had the opportunity to review several writings that revealed horrible child neglect/abuse but unfortunately as soon as they were admitted into court record, Commissioner Thomas ordered these to be destroyed saying that "no woman should ever have to fear facing this type of evidence again."  That Order, once complied with as I also had to delete all copies I had in my possession, was subsequently redacted from all court records.  In that same hearing, the request for a Guardian ad Litem was denied.  There has now been three requests for a Guardian ad litem for the Respondent's middle child, in addition to the an earlier request for a Guardian ad Litem for the Respondent's oldest child, all of which were denied.  It is my understanding that the Department of Social and Health Services has finally acknowledged some of the evidence but only after the South Sound Family Visitation Services submitted a couple visitation reports on court record expressing concern.  I am concerned that one of the reasons this "audit report" was refused is because as part of my findings I did state on the record that the evidence of child abuse/neglect should not have been ordered to be destroyed and it was the same Court Commissioner who discounted the audit/my credentials on May 24th, 2010 immediately after the Petitioner had addressed those concerns with the Court in response to an affidavit of Prejudice submitted.)

Please advise if there is an official, authorized, court or Washington State designated "auditor" I can refer this matter to look into.  This was initially a family law matter but Commissioner Thomas kept repeating yesterday that it was a civil matter now so it may be turned over to the Civil Courts.  Regardless, it is my understanding that prosecution of perjury must be done by the Prosecuting Attorney or the Attorney General, and these other issues uncovered in the audit still need to be acknowledged by the Court.  I am concerned that regardless of family or civil court, this will continue to be ignored unless an "official" and "authorized" party with the court-recognized credentials looks into this and verifies my work on this case, that an innocent father and his child will continue to suffer greatly and the laws will continue to only be upheld when convenient for certain individuals, certain causes, and certain genders.

Thanks

Re: Expansion of the State Society

I can only surmise that since the shift to government employment from the private sector is unsustainable it's life will be short!  One can only hope I suppose!

I am waiting for the entitlements to end.  Wait until SSI and Medicare are terminated do to their sustainability.  Sure would be nice to get back even my SSI payments in a lump sum - ain't going to happen ever though.

The nation is broke and the only way to recover is either taxation, nationalization of industry, or becoming fiscally responsible and reduce spending, reduce taxation, reduce government, or file international bankruptcy!  Regardless of the path selected it will be a struggle.

The real question we need to ask is are we ready to do what is necessary to right our sinking ship?  Do the American people still have that famed resiliency and cohesiveness necessary to tackle what seems an insurmountable task?  My gut feeling is the answer is NO.
