GOVCO Stupidity

So North Carolina passes a law that it is illegal to text while driving. Lots of people think what a great idea. I personally am against texting while driving but didn't support a law to ban it.

Now that the law has gone into effect law enforcement realize the law is useless.

When they pull a person over, all the person has to do is claim they were dialing a number to make a call or entering contact information in their phone. Neither of them are illegal.

An officer can ask to inspect your phone and look at your text history to compare times. HOWEVER the person doesn't have to let him have the phone. They can simply say No.

So Law enforcement is now refusing to attempt to enforce this useless law.

Typical........GOVCO.........Program.

I prefer the broader law where no mobile communication is legal while operating a motorized vehicle.  Hands free or not!  Take the time to enjoy the scenery, ponder some issue you are confronting or the great sex last night.  Appreciate the fact that the law permits you to be in your own space while driving your car.
