I stumbled across a flavor of Linux this weekend, pretty nice. It's OpenGEU . I'm impressed so far as I'm currently running it on two laptops. One is a Fujitsu N6010 P-4 3.2 w/ 2 Gig RAM and the other is an old Toshiba Satellite P-3 650 w/ 392 Meg RAM. The install was easy and the result is a very sexy yet functional Desktop They use a mix of E17 and Gnome for the desktop, now Enlightenment is still Beta code so by mixing elements of Gnome with it the results have been a very useful and sexy Desktop environment. I've been keeping an eye on Enlightenment's E17 for some time now, I love the path they've taken. But it's been in Development for years and for that reason has been too immature to run as a Desktop. But with OpenGEU's approach of mixing elements of Gnome in with it I've found it so far to be very functional. I haven't replaced Linux Mint on my main rig as of yet, but if the testing on my laptops go well I just may do it. I also don't have any plans to change RTH from running Gentoo . But for a Desktop OS this is really looking sweat, it's IMO "Art" So if you're up to try a new flavor of Linux, give it a spin. They stripped Ubuntu down and have built one Sexy environment.

Re: OpenGEU
Well after playing around with it for a bit I've found that's it's still a bit immature, especially for the 64 Bit release. I may continue to run it on my old P-III Toshiba Laptop, I'll decide after another week or so. But for my main desktop I went back to Linux Mint and for my other Laptop I also went back to Linux Mint. You really can't beat the polish of Linux Mint .
Re: OpenGEU
Yeah, I messed with it a while, it's still too immature to run for a day to day machine. It's got some good things going for it, I'll continue to keep my eye on it
Re: OpenGEU
You have to be careful when you get a "woody" over the visual glamour of an OS - just like women the shine can be deceiving! Sooner or later they have a "honey do" list to distract from the real pleasures in life!
