Democrats release papers on Bush prosecutor firings - WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The administration of President George W. Bush was deeply involved in the improper firings of federal prosecutors, the head of House Judiciary Committee charged on Tuesday in releasing a crush of documents.

Estimated cost 3 Trillion dollars.
That is approximately $10,000 for EVERY PERSON in the United States.

That means $30,000 from my household alone. I was just thinking what I could use that money for, just to give it perspective.

• Over 5 years of Groceries.
• 14 years of electricity
• Over 6 years of tuition for my child.
• Eyeglasses and contacts for 120 years.
• 1000 co pays for doctor's visits
• Pay my vehicle off & purchase a new one for my wife. Hers has over 200k miles
• Replace our home computers every year for the next 10 years

A lot of buzz is afoot blaming the current economic woes on deregulation or laissez faire policies. I have bolded the programs that came out of the New deal and give definitive evidence that shows our economy is neither laissez faire nor a free market.

The first concept is fiat money. This allows the government (and only the government in our system) to set the standard of currency and the amount of currency in circulation. That allows the government to set the interest rates that the banks use on their whims.

When the government (or a politicians) says.......They really mean.........

It's Urgent!!!...............We have to pass this before the people realize it's bad.
Bipartisan...................I can't get it passed any other way.
Compromise...................I put much more in the bill than I thought I would actually get.
It's for the Children........This is really bad law but if we play on their sympathies we can pass it.
The tax cut will cost $XX....You don't actually expect us to reduce spending, do you?
We have a budget surplus.....We haven't decided what to spend this money on.
Crisis.......................Bend Over!

I decided to put this in a blog entry because I seem to be saying it over and over.
